We are building the world's largest plant to produce green ammonia at scale, providing humankind with a cost-efficient solution that will accelerate the worldwide green hydrogen economy. Located in NEOM and supporting Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, NGHC will be integrating up to 4GW of onshore solar and wind energy to supply up to 650 tons of green ammonia per day for transportation globally. Operations will go onstream in 2026. Liaise/Cooperate With: NGHC PWEs O&M Team, OEMs, Contractors, APEPC Team, EPMS Team-NGHC EHS Team, GHE O&M & EHS Team.
POSITION SUMMARY
Maintenance Planning Engineer shall be responsible for maintenance planning & scheduling of 2.97 GW dc solar PV farm in NEOM region. The main objective is to ensure that the maintenance plans have been scheduled & executed in a timely manner without backlogs in line with OEMs recommendations.
The appropriate safety measures have been considered during every scheduled maintenance activity to increase the asset productivity, efficiency & lifecycle.
NATURE & SCOPE
The main functions of this position are:
- Finalizing the best period for maintenance plans scheduling as per site weather conditions & resource availability optimization.
- Understanding the asset behavior & producing the comprehensive site maintenance plan including OEM specific Maintenance Plan & Site-specific maintenance plans.
- Actively participate in the O&M activities & Commissioning activities to drive out the improvement & strategies in associated maintenance plans of the equipment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Maintenance Practices:
- Appropriately scheduling the approved maintenance plans in company CMMS system based on resource availability in every shift.
- Ensuring the monthly PM compliance meets as per company KPIs benchmarking.
- Manage and organize spare parts & consumable inventory as per approved maintenance plans.
- Manage critical spares inventory & establish BOM for all equipment & machines.
- Prepare the plant asset register & keep updating it whenever any asset replacement has been performed as part of corrective maintenance.
- Coordinate for repairable items sent to vendors & interface with vendors and consultants as needed.
- Timely coordinate with contractors for scheduling inspections and calibrations of all equipment as per calibration schedule.
- Research and order parts, sourcing alternate vendors and new parts as needed.
- Assist with work order system improvements in CMMS or manual systems.
- Support the Engineering Department with relevant information & documents whenever needed.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
- Extend support to ensure that the best O&M practices are being followed & well executed.
- Responsible for properly maintaining & managing the plant maintenance records.
- Review operations notifications & assign maintenance work orders based on their priorities.
- Support in preliminary incident reports for any events occurring in the plant in coordination with the operation team.
- Execute the approved continuous improvement program, contributing towards safe, reliable, productive & cost-effective O&M practices.
- Actively participate in Monthly review meetings with operation teams to retrospect & discuss the O&M philosophy & performance key points.
- Supervise & support commissioning activities to be performed in compliance with approved procedures, method statements & risk assessment. Raise punch points if any compliance deviates from its actual standards.
- Perform frequent surprise site audits to verify that O&M practices are being performed correctly by the site team as per standard procedures.
- Ensure the contractor is delivering the required maintenance deliverables with quality as per scope of work under the maintenance agreement.
- Respond on time for any emergency call-out requirements.
Team Management & Training:
- Ensure team engagement in all training programs as per company training matrix.
- Provide necessary training to the O&M team related to maintenance planning such as issuing notifications, creating work orders, etc.
Warranty Management:
- Ensure required warranty management information; data & documents are maintained & submitted to suppliers if requested.
Spare Part & Resource Management:
- Ensure that spare part storage conditions are met in accordance with OEM recommendations.
- Communicate critical spare part availability information to O&M teams on time to avoid any downtime of equipment due to absence of spare at site.
Reporting Matrix & Documentation:
- Regularly audit the O&M team to ensure that relevant document records are well maintained in line with O&M agreement & OEM recommendations.
Interdepartmental Communication & Coordination:
- Extend required support & proper communication to other departments & PWEs in a timely manner to ensure smooth & effective operation of the company.
- Keep close & necessary interaction with the site operation & maintenance team to avoid communication gaps & delays in equipment restoration.
HSSE:
- Ensure that every site activity is executed with approved procedures (SOPs), WMSRA, Risk Assessment (RA), checklists (if needed) or any other supporting document if recommended.
- Ensure the O&M team & sub-contractors/suppliers obtain PTW for each job and monitor them onsite for HSE compliance mitigations.
- Engage with the site team for identification of new hazards from ongoing tasks or any new task.
- Participate/Assist in reviewing/revising the task risk assessment (TRA) from time to time.
- Participate actively in the emergency response plan as per approved ERP.
- Support in executing emergency response drills.
- Assist when needed in HSE incidents/accident investigations.
- Ensure PTWs for all activities are issued as per approved WMSRA/PTW/LOTO systems.
- Ensure isolations/de-isolation and LOTO applications are applied as per SLD/switching sequence.
- Control and manage site EHS conditions by imposing and applying NGHC-EHS policies and procedures.
- Verify the isolation & LOTO procedure for critical maintenance activities.
SKILLS / TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS
- Professional in Microsoft Operating System (MS office).
- Mechanical, Electric & Electronic components fundamental knowledge.
- Leadership skills, negotiation skills & Interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to describe the Plant Maintenance Issues in a short & effective way.
- Optimization of Preventive Maintenance Plan based on various methodologies such as PMO, CBM, RCM, etc.
- Knowledge of Solar Inverters System, Solar Tracking System & Substation Operation & Maintenance preferably HV/MV GIS substation.
- Advanced analytical, technical skills and knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment, as well as instrumentation & Electrical testing equipment.
- Deliverables on Time, Leadership & Adaptability: Be Enthusiastic & energetic to provide required deliverables within the time frame with quality standards.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- A bachelor's degree in electrical, Instrument or Electromechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance planning & scheduling solar plant capacity greater than or equal to 100MW.
DESIRED EDUCATION and/or QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- A bachelor's degree in electrical, Instrument or Electromechanical Engineering with a minimum of 7+ years of experience in maintenance planning & scheduling solar plant capacity greater than or equal to 500MW.
