Networks & Infrastructure-ICT Head

Over View: The Head of Networks & Infrastructure is responsible for planning, designing, management, implementation, administration and support of network and communication infrastructure, solutions, systems and tools that shall provide a secure and robust ICT infrastructure backbone delivering effective and efficient ICT based services to the business

Job responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities for Network and Communication Infrastructure Management

Strategy and Planning:

• Develop and implement strategic plans for Network and Communication Infrastructure in alignment with business and ICT objectives, in collaboration with the Director of ICT.
• Propose infrastructure solutions and services based on user feedback, effectiveness reviews, and industry best practices.
• Establish and enforce policies and standards for infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with modern technology.
• Prepare business plans and budgets for infrastructure functions, optimizing resource allocation.
• Drive operational efficiency by delivering reliable and secure infrastructure tools and services to support us and our Strategic Business Units.
• Define specifications and standards for core infrastructure hardware, ensuring advanced functionality and compatibility with business needs.
• Optimize hardware procurement through strategic sourcing agreements, leveraging economies of scale and supplier partnerships.

Project Management

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of Network and Communication Infrastructure based projects as per agreed timelines and costs meeting the pre-agreed deliverables
• Exhibit extensive technical and project management skills towards successful realization of Network and Communication Infrastructure based projects
• Establish deliverables, timelines and applicable quality assurance standards for proposed Network and Communication Infrastructure solutions before acquisition and ensure the delivery of the same during implementation

Operations

• Manage data centers, networks, telecommunications, servers, and security systems.
• Assess needs, propose solutions, and implement infrastructure projects.
• Ensure reliable backup, recovery, and disaster recovery systems with regular testing.
• Provide technical leadership and support for infrastructure design and operations.
• Oversee budgets, contracts, and capacity planning while ensuring cost efficiency.
• Maintain documentation, deliver user training, and implement upgrades and security patches.
• Enforce security measures and ensure compliance with policies and licensing requirements.

Service Management

• Monitoring the helpdesk tickets assigned to Network & Infrastructure team and ensure the timely resolution in-line with agreed SLA
• Coordinate with vendors / technical service providers for escalated technical issues
• Provide expert support for complex trouble-shooting to the Network & Infrastructure team members

People Management

1. Lead and oversee the Network & Infrastructure team, ensuring effective work scheduling, prioritization, and support.
2. Monitor team performance, time management, and work quality for optimal efficiency.
3. Identify and manage training needs, budgeting, and development plans for team members.
4. Conduct performance reviews, track progress, and implement development initiatives.
5. Coach and mentor staff to enhance performance and stay updated on technical advancements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Min 10+ years in IT Infrastructure Management, including 7+ years in Project Management.
• Expertise in managing enterprise infrastructure (1000+ users), including LAN, WAN, Data Centers, Messaging, and VoIP.
• Strong leadership, project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• In-depth knowledge of network architecture, emerging technologies, and industry practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a presentable personality.
• Education: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Certifications: PMP (preferred), relevant Cisco, Microsoft, or Juniper certifications.
