Maintains service operations by inspecting and maintaining vehicles. Main duties include using tools to find any potential issues with a vehicle, explaining problems with the car to the driver, and performing maintenance on the car to fix it or prevent future breakdowns or issues.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure that job card is issued with details of the repair work to be carried out.
2. Ensure that protective covers are used in all vehicles before carrying out any repairs.
3. Maintain accurate time recording (clocking on and off) for all repairs.
4. Perform brakes, suspension, tire installation, scheduled maintenance, and all manner of automotive repairs and maintenance that you are qualified to perform.
5. Secure guest approval to perform the work based on the diagnosis; and always maintain a clean, neat work area.
6. Complete thorough automotive vehicle inspections on every vehicle you service and perform any repairs and maintenance.
7. Test drive guest vehicles and use our shop truck in a safe manner to pick up inventory as needed.
8. Repair brake and steering systems.
9. Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems.
10. Replace or repair transmissions and fuel components as needed.
11. Repair cooling components and systems including air conditioners and engine cooling.
12. Perform emissions inspections, safety checks, and similar state-regulated vehicle examinations.
13. Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
14. Produce legible and accurate paperwork reflecting work performed.
15. Identify problems with vehicles using diagnostic equipment.
16. Explain automotive repairs and issues and provide great customer service.
17. Perform basic auto care and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotation.
18. Repair and replace brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors, and other parts.
19. Perform routine maintenance and general mechanic work on vehicles.
20. Be prepared to get additional certification as needed.
21. Willingness to learn with hands-on training.
22. Help keep the repair shop clean and organized.
