Mechanical Technician

Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Technician

As a Mechanical Engineering Technician, your primary responsibility will be to assist in the development and testing of mechanical systems and components. This includes participating in the design and prototyping of new products, as well as modifying existing systems for improved performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate closely with engineering teams to create detailed technical drawings and schematics using CAD software, facilitating the transformation of conceptual designs into practical, manufacturable products.
2. Conduct feasibility studies, analyze design specifications, and contribute to material selection.
3. Assemble, test, and maintain mechanical prototypes and equipment, ensuring they conform to quality standards and performance criteria.
4. Install and perform diagnostic tests on mechanical systems.
5. Develop and implement mechanical maintenance plans to prevent costly equipment breakdowns.
6. Troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as perform repairs.
7. Document processes and maintain mechanical service records.
8. Optimize mechanical efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings.
9. Maintain a tidy work environment and adhere to industry regulations.
10. Check equipment and operating systems on a regular basis to ensure machinery is at optimum performance.
11. Perform troubleshooting and tests on equipment or machinery.
12. Install preventative measures to avoid potential malfunctions.
13. Handle tools like power tools and rigging equipment.
14. Carry out hot work such as welding and cutting.
15. Resolve issues regarding motor, conveyor, and hydraulic equipment.
16. Operate equipment like forklifts.
17. Maintain the workshop, warehouse, and tools area.
18. Assist project engineers as requested.
19. Comply with company safety guidelines.
20. Perform other related duties as assigned.
