Responsibilities
To maintain and repair defects in the Diesel Engines, Bow Thrusters, Voith Schneider Propulsors, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Plants, Pumps, HPACs, STP, HIAB Crane, EDBA, all auxiliary/ancillary engineering plant, fittings and pipe work systems to support Al Jawf Class Minehunters.
For the maintenance of mechanical elements of the FSU and its ancillary equipment.
To undertake all other duties as assigned on Al Jawf Class Minehunters.
To coordinate and liaise with the Vibration Analysis Technician on all aspects of condition monitoring of equipment.
To implement and adhere to the RSNF Al Jawf Class Maintenance Management System routines, including established fault finding and analytical maintenance techniques.
To comply with all RSNF directives and safety procedures.
To deploy with the Forward Support Unit as required, and to work shift patterns to provide full technical support for the vessels.
Accommodation during deployment will be within the FSU complex.
To observe confidentiality of RSNF data at all times.
Job Requirements:
Five (5) years engineering experience, preferably three (3) years particular expertise in the Marine Engineering field.
Desirable, a good working knowledge of the mechanical equipment fitted to the Sandown or Al Jawf class ships.
An Ex-Navy senior rate with substantial workshop experience would be suitable.
