JOB PURPOSE

This role is responsible for leading the development, effectiveness, and consolidation (PC and RSAF) of approximately 65 Mechanical supervisors and tradesmen employed in the Aircraft Generation Flight at KFAB Taif. To manage the engineering activities and ensure effective supervision of Mechanical personnel in order to ensure that continuing airworthiness and maintenance activities on Typhoon aircraft are carried out in accordance with BAE Systems Saudi Arabia SALAM Maintenance Organisation Exposition and associated Quality Management System.

The job holder will supervise BAE Systems staff and Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) personnel as well as lead the mentoring and consolidation development of these tradesmen in the Line (Forward) Maintenance environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Establish the optimum technical development approach for circa 65 Mechanical tradesmen.
2. Lead the technical development of the Mechanical tradesmen, including PC and RSAF consolidation, to enable them to achieve full operational performance within agreed time constraints.
3. Establish and maintain an individual development plan for each member of the Mechanical trade.
4. Provide trade leadership in the effective control and supervision of all continuing airworthiness and maintenance activities carried out on Typhoon aircraft by Mechanical tradesmen.
5. Ensure compliance with safety practices and requirements in the Area of Responsibility.
6. Implement good husbandry practices and FOD control measures effectively.
7. Ensure understanding and implementation of relevant Safety Management Systems and Maintenance Error Management Systems by supervised staff.
8. Coach and mentor BAES and RSAF personnel under supervision.
9. Assist with aircraft handling and flight line activities when required.
10. Complete any other reasonable duties or requests made by appropriate line managers.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Proven supervisory ability at senior supervisor level in a high tempo aircraft maintenance delivery environment.
2. Must hold a relevant Typhoon ‘Q’ trade annotation.
3. Possess in-depth knowledge of the Typhoon Mechanical systems.
4. Qualified to HNC or recognised equivalent level in an Aeronautical Engineering or related subject.
5. Successfully completed a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship or similar practical aircraft maintenance training programme delivered by a NATO air force or approved aircraft maintenance training provider.
6. Experience as a Category B1 Licensed aircraft maintenance technician or military equivalent.
7. Extensive experience working at supervisor level maintaining Typhoon aircraft at either Line (Forward) or Base (Depth) Maintenance.
8. Currently working in an aircraft maintenance organisation conducting or supporting Line (Forward) Maintenance of military fast-jets.
9. Proven track record managing Mechanical aircraft maintenance supervisors and technicians at ‘shift manager’ level.
10. Excellent man management experience and proven people development competency.
11. High level of interpersonal skills to coordinate diverse activities and communicate effectively at all levels.
12. Demonstrable experience working as a Mechanical certifying supervisor managing Line (Forward) Maintenance on a busy, military operational flying unit.
13. Fully conversant with European Aviation Safety Agency aircraft maintenance regulations or military equivalents.
14. Experience working in a NATO air force maintaining Mechanical systems on military aircraft.
15. Experience as a mentor, coach, or instructor in an aircraft maintenance environment.
16. Experience conducting Line Maintenance of aircraft in a Gulf Coast Country.
