Job description

Position Title: Mechanical Inspector (Lifting Inspector)

Employment Type: Full Time

Job Location: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, UAE - Saudi

Qualification:

B.E - Mechanical Engineering.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Monitoring and inspection of general lifting accessories, including chain slings, webbing slings, and wire rope slings.
  2. Bespoke lifting and handling equipment.
  3. Manually operated lifting equipment such as chain hoists, wire rope, lifting and pulling machines, and beam trolleys.
  4. Power operated lifting equipment (including but not limited to electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic powered systems, powered winches, etc).
  5. Runway beams and light crane structures.
  6. Electric overhead travelling cranes.
  7. Offshore cargo carrying units.
  8. Carrying out inspection and testing work to industry specifications, whether on site or in workshops.
  9. Completing necessary paperwork in line with set procedures and industry specifications.
  10. Assisting with repairs and servicing of lifting equipment where required.
  11. Adhering to regulations surrounding health and safety, quality, and environmental protection.
  12. Travelling between different sites and workshops to work on common bits of construction kit.
  13. Working in a fast-paced office environment completing administration work.
  14. Excellent knowledge of health and safety requirements.
  15. Passion for machinery and the technical aspects of the industry.
  16. Able to pick up new systems quickly that may be very technical.
  17. High level of organisation and commitment to your work.
  18. Good knowledge of inspection and testing techniques with regard to different types of lifting equipment.
  19. In-depth understanding of general engineering.
  20. Experience of carrying out method statements and risk assessments.
  21. Excellent personal organisational skills.
  22. Attention to detail and accuracy when completing inspection and examination testing paperwork.
  23. Working between 35 and 40 hours per week. There may be times where you'll need to work longer hours, if you need to do some overtime or cover other staff.
