Mechanical Engineer

Job Responsibilities

1. Review and verify the accuracy of mechanical drawings, plans, and specifications.
2. Coordinate with the design team to ensure all drawings are up-to-date and accurate.
3. Conduct thorough reviews of contractor’s shop drawings for approval, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
4. Identify and resolve conflicts between design requirements and existing conditions, coordinating necessary clarifications or changes with the Client and Contractors.
5. Monitor the execution of works by contractors and suppliers to ensure adherence to applicable standards and project specifications.
6. Ensure all mechanical works comply with PTS (Project Technical Specifications), international standards, and OEM procedures and specifications.
7. Validate that all mechanical equipment, tools, and materials meet project quality requirements.
8. Confirm that all operators are adequately trained to use the equipment safely.
9. Develop effective quality control processes, including specifications for products or processes.
10. Ensure compliance with quality requirements, and validate that contractors adhere to drawings and design in terms of materials and workmanship standards.
11. Monitor routine inspections and maintain detailed records of mechanical works.
12. Manage site duties and submit comprehensive weekly reports and required information to the client’s office.
13. Attend inspection requests (IR) submitted by the contractor.
14. Verify that all necessary inspections and tests are carried out in a timely manner.
15. Ensure that appropriate records are kept updated and maintained.
16. Verify the implementation of corrective and preventive actions against non-conformances and report results to the client’s office.
17. Monitor the progressive preparation of final documentation, ensuring concurrent maintenance of backups.
18. Identify and report near misses and non-conformances in materials, products, processes, and procedures.
19. Prepare and organize quality-related documentation for project closeout.
20. Report any work not in accordance with approved drawings and specifications, and work with the project team to develop corrective action plans.
21. Coordinate with clients and third parties concerning quality matters on site.
22. Attend progress and issues meetings to present progress, observations, and obstacles.
23. Engage in detailed discussions to address and resolve quality-related issues.
24. Familiarity with detailed testing and commissioning procedures of mechanical equipment.
25. Test and commission related works after construction completion to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
26. Ensure compliance with relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures within the defined work area.
27. Guarantee legislative compliance and delivery of high-quality products/services.
28. Conduct final inspections to confirm all work meets the quality control plan and project requirements.
29. Preparation and follow-up on Punch Lists, raise punch items, and assist contractors in meeting the requirements to close gaps.
30. Ensure the closeout of all snags/punch-points within the agreed time frame.
31. Arrange and action checklists for special activities on site.

33. Contribute to and support the functional development of the PMO.
34. Assist in project management activities, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
35. Provide technical design development, ensuring designs are efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with standards.
36. Engage in value engineering to optimize project outcomes and reduce costs.
37. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements without compromising quality.
38. Assist in establishing a new technical office, including setting up processes, systems, and standards.
39. Supervise the technical office, ensuring all activities are aligned with project goals and objectives.
