Job Description:

The opportunity: Implementing and adhere to Material Planner will be responsible for end-to-end planning of inventory from purchase requisition to customer invoice. Support internal customer service inquiries. Sets inventory parameters, manages inventory targets, and ensures adequate replenishment of inventory through purchase orders.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Material Master Data: Manage and review frequently critical and strategic materials. Share information towards the operational purchasers as well as towards the category managers regarding engineering changes that affect material requirements, manage relevant material master data for MRP run. Review and validate the MRP result.
  • Material Demand Plan: Review sourcing constraints in terms of material availability, create and agree on forecasts of critical materials considering input from sales. Collaborate with Category Managers in case of significant volume changes and shifts and decide in alignment with Category Manager on operational make or buy decisions on missing volumes.
  • Segmentation & Supply Plan: Define and revise stock level strategies, segment the portfolio of materials through an ABC/XYZ analysis, product lifecycle management, and commercial policy. Define inventory policies according to segmentation.
  • Inventory Parameters & Forecasting: Participate in the Sales & Operations Planning meetings and contribute to the process by creating inventory forecast for critical materials & suppliers. Review forecasts with suppliers in comparison with the Sales & Operations Plan, collect feasibility confirmations, and provide input to the Sales & Operations Planning meetings. Contact the Category Managers in case of significant volume shift compared to the budget/supplier allocation plan.
  • Calculate and maintain in the planning systems and the ERPs the inventory parameters: safety stock, reorder point, and replenishment strategies. Update ERP according to the agreed & approved inventory policy.
  • Collaboration: Challenge price, incoterms, lot size, lead time, quality, and provide input to Category Managers. Collaborate for obtaining the best possible supplier performance.
  • Materials Availability: Collaborate with Operational Purchasers and CSS to align delivery of material with call offs and ensure that purchase requisitions can be converted on time into purchase orders and open orders followed up.
  • Inventory Control: Manage MRP (Materials Resource Planning) exception messages frequently and support cycle counting and/or year-end inventory counting, conduct financial risk assessments decisions relating to inventory, and conduct root cause analysis when necessary.
  • Inventory Performance: Analyze slow moving, excess & obsolete inventory, leftovers in WIP to take appropriate action for optimizing inventory level, in collaboration with sales, marketing, manufacturing, and SCM. Analyze component and product commonalities and discuss with engineering and product management and make proposals on combinations.
  • Supplier Management: Oversee supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead time), and resolve performance issues. Propose improvement actions to Category Managers on supplier flexibility or dual sourcing. Get involved in supplier inventory policy setup to optimize internal material flow.
  • Project Specific Materials and Data: Manage new project specific material and data requests. Contact the responsible Category Manager or Factory SCM to request quotation on price, lead time, and other terms and conditions.
  • CSS: Manage CSS interfaces and keep ownership on ensuring processes and link between local factories and CSS are aligned and working. Participate on kickoff and firm planning meeting in Trade Transport Logistic team for effective planning for materials pickup and material availability.

Your background:

  • A bachelor’s degree or above in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business Administration, Procurement or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years in Material Procurement Planning and supply chain management.
  • CPSM or PMP certifications, SAP Experience, Documentation Management Systems, Power BI, and proficiency with Microsoft Office is preferred.
  • Collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills, results orientation with proven implementation skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence and persuade, and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently daily. Compliance and ethics oriented. Fluent in English, with other languages being an advantage.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
