Job Description
Title: SPS (Set Part Supply) Engineer
Reports to: SPS Expert
The SPS engineer's main responsibility is to secure the SPS (set part supply) related to the introduction of new products and other larger logistic processes changes, including planning, preparation, design, and implementation in the plant.
Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development and Implementation:
The SPS engineer's main responsibility is to secure SPS industrialization. We have defined the high rate (+90%) of SPS parts supply in the General Assembly shop in the client's location. The SPS engineer plays a critical role in intra logistic setup to make it happen on the shop floor. - Budget:
Define the required ME budget for projects. Track the budget internally and report out. - Project Management:
Design and implementation of all SPS setups with the client. SPS setup needs to consider the whole flow setup including present to production line, including but not limited to:
- SPS strategy for each line.
- Process, high-level and detailed flow chart, process description, etc.
- Layout, block, and detail part by part level.
- System functions.
- PFMEA.
- Related equipment needs (Material handling equipment tugger, AGV, flow rack; IT equipment pick to light, scanner, screen, etc).
Design all SPS carts for each flow including concept, standards, CAD drawing. Coordinate with all stakeholders for alignment. Define RFP for all related equipment and work together with the procurement team to buy the equipment, follow up the supplier delivery, validate with stakeholders, and continuously improve. PFEP control and flexibility for data change management. Layout management. Optimal introduction of Product Changes in view of the physical material flow. Drive the logistic equipment and tooling applied within the physical material flow. - Documentation:
All documents generated are confidential. All policies will follow ISO standards. Process will be followed with the appropriate follow-up and documentation of signatures. - Vendor Selection/Management:
Responsible for vendor selection of equipment needed in SPS setup.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering.
Skills & Competencies:
- Familiar with MS Office and AutoCAD.
- Fluent in English, written and spoken.
- Good knowledge and implementation experience in SPS setup.
- Toyota SPS experience is preferred.
- Logistic system knowledge.
- Analytic mind.
- Team player.
Additional Information
Minimum Experience:
3 OEM's SPS setup & implementation.
8+ years experience in logistics planning and material handling engineering.
