Job Overview:

Continental Tide is seeking an experienced and skilled Marine Electrician. The successful candidate will join our Fleet Services Group performing various ship repair, modernization and Alteration Installation Team (AIT) projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Practical shipboard experience with HM&E systems and equipment.
  2. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with shipboard electronic and electrical systems and equipment.
  3. Understand and interpret electrical schematics and installation drawings.
  4. Experience with NAVSEA cableway and connectorization; certification is a plus.
  5. Technical expertise with power and transmission equipment, and motorized valve actuators.
  6. Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), fiber optics and integrated network system experience.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Must possess a high school, trade or vocational school degree.
  2. 5-10 years of direct experience in ship repair and installation of Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) systems and equipment.
  3. Ability to read and interpret ship installation drawings, installation specifications and NAVSEA Standard Items.
  4. Must have or have the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
  5. Must have the ability to obtain base access and security credentials.
  6. Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes, no less than 30 lbs.
  7. Ability to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
  8. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.

Security Requirements:

  1. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance to access military facilities, naval shipyards, private shipyards, and Naval installations.
  2. Due to export control regulations, this role is open to U.S. only.

Travel Requirements:

  1. Occasional Travel - up to 10% within and outside of the continental United States.
  2. If a position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes, no less than 30 lbs.
  2. Ability to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
