Job description

The Commercial Manager will identify, deliver and maintain revenue streams across catering, hotel, restaurant and retail sectors, including delivering an effective customer relationship program that retains and expands the customer base. The Commercial Manager's responsibilities include exploiting the capability of the CPU through networking, leadership of the sales and marketing effort, and partnering with RSG Logistics to meet customer requirements.

Roles & Responsibility:

  1. Developing and driving a rolling 3-year revenue growth strategy, including product development, revenue streams, sales forecasts and budgets to achieve agreed targets.
  2. Identifying and optimizing synergies across the food production and logistics platforms cognizant of mutual strengths and benefits from such collaboration, including gathering and leveraging data generated during the course of business operations to inform decision-making and drive efficiencies.
  3. Creating and implementing business development strategies for hotel, retail and cafes (HORECA) as well consistent with CPU's manufacturing and distribution capabilities to enable sustainable revenue growth.
  4. Reviewing and assessing financial and economic data to monitor the health of the CATRION CPU platform; preparing reports to benchmark the performance of the business; assessing the underlying drivers of changes in financial metrics; and identifying risks and opportunities to the business plan.
  5. Assessing and interpreting commercial and financial performance to partner and guide the team in protecting, projecting and growing organic and innovative revenue streams.
  6. Building and maintaining a current and useful competitor database, to support business impact analyses and business continuity plans, including mitigation and contingency planning.
  7. Overseeing the development and execution of sales, marketing and customer satisfaction efforts across customer locations and engaging the CPU team to address known issues of service delivery and quality.
  8. Developing a weekly performance scoreboard covering a detailed analysis of revenues against budget, product pricing review, profitability assessment and marketing related costs.
  9. Securing and managing customer contracts, including managing and reporting on contract retention, by ensuring service delivery performance is tracked and in line with or exceeds customer expectations and requirements defined through contract negotiations to support a successful outcome.
  10. Maintaining satisfactory or exemplary relationships with customers, including by establishing customer care policies and procedures that provide systemic professional and relevant engagement and ensures customers have full confidence in CATRION capabilities.
  11. Identifying and resolving revenue collection matters as and when they arise to protect cashflow and eliminate write-offs.
  12. Developing the strategy for the regional expansion of the CATRION or other associated brand, products and services.
  13. Researching market segments and potential customers for CATRION in the region, informing a compelling value proposition; and providing presentations and supporting materials (e.g., responses to requests for proposals, capability statements, pricing analysis) to secure business.
  14. Researching and providing reports on local and regional market developments and trends that may impact CATRION's products and services, including but not limited to the local business climate, the macroeconomic environment, taxation, trade policy and relevant public and/or private investments.
  15. Developing a business plan, including the revenue growth strategy, target expansion categories, products, revenue streams, sales forecasts and budgets, to achieve expansion objectives and, as approved, supporting its implementation.
  16. Perform other duties related to the job and/or the operation of the company, in accordance with the regulations of the Saudi Labor of Law. Adherence to Cybersecurity policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experienced in developing and successfully executing commercial strategies.
  • Experience in the food catering and/or retail sectors.
  • Experience in establishing customer requirements and developing the scope of product development that secures new profitable business.
  • Excellent English and Arabic language skills.
  • Computer literate with good IT skills.
  • Legally entitled to work in Saudi Arabia for the activities required.
  • An ability to work to clearly defined objectives and to cultivate a team ethos.
  • Excellent people management skills and expertise.
  • Strong Customer Service skills.
  • The ability to utilise all available resources (staff, plant, equipment, machinery and materials, etc) effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and seek ways to improve the quality of service.

  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills.
  • Good HSE knowledge and awareness.
