Manager - Biomedical Engineer
Job Description
Biomedical engineer applies engineering principles and techniques to solve problems in the field of healthcare and medicine. They combine their knowledge of biology, medicine, and engineering to design and develop medical devices, equipment, and systems that improve patient care, diagnosis, and treatment. These professionals work closely with healthcare professionals, scientists, and researchers to identify and address various challenges in the medical field. By integrating engineering principles with medical knowledge, biomedical engineers contribute to advancing healthcare and improving the quality of life for patients.
Collaboration and Communication
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to understand their needs and improve product functionality. Facilitate regular meetings and updates with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and address challenges.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all equipment complies with SFDA and ISO and maintain required documents as proof. Prepare biomedical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Technical Support
Offer expertise to repair of equipment in case of reported failure. Report to the leadership and quality any equipment misuse for preventive measures.
Professional Development
Maintain the highest levels of professional competence through ongoing personal professional development using multiple modalities such as attendance at conferences and symposiums, workshops and in-services, reading role-related journals and textbooks, and networking with others. Pursue ongoing education and training to stay abreast of advancements in medical equipment practice and healthcare technology. Seek opportunities for professional growth and skill development through workshops, seminars, and certifications. Maintain current licensure and certifications required for the position. Act as a preceptor for new employees.
Quality Improvement and Compliance
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety. Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and standards of practice. Assist in the implementation of evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of departmental indicators, especially the required interventions and prevention. Other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job.
