Job description

Inbound Logistics Officer.

Job Purpose:

To coordinate and oversee inbound logistics operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of shipments. Manage communication with suppliers, track and resolve issues related to shipments, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations and propose improvements to logistics processes.

Key Accountabilities & Activities:

  1. Communicate with suppliers to schedule deliveries and resolve any delivery-related issues.
  2. Track and follow up on delayed or missing shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
  3. Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery.
  4. Ensure all inbound shipments are properly documented and tracked.
  5. Prepare and maintain reports related to inbound logistics activities.
  6. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and customs requirements (if applicable).
  7. Collaborate with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth logistics operations.
  8. Provide regular updates on inbound shipments to relevant departments.
  9. Address any issues related to inbound logistics that may impact production or operations.
  10. Identify inefficiencies in the inbound logistics process and propose continuous improvements.
  11. Monitor and control costs related to inbound logistics, including transportation and storage.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  2. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  3. Proficiency in logistics software and inventory management systems.
  4. Attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
  5. Knowledge of supply chain management and logistics best practices.
  6. Understanding of customs regulations and international shipping (if applicable).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. At least 3 years of logistics experience, specifically in managing inbound shipments and coordinating deliveries.
  2. Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively work with suppliers and stakeholders.
  3. Proven ability to organize and manage logistics schedules and operations efficiently.
  4. Proficiency in using logistics software and inventory management systems.
  5. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities to address logistical challenges.
  6. Sound knowledge of supply chain management practices and logistics operations.
  7. Familiarity with customs regulations and international shipping procedures (if applicable).
