Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize our supply chain and distribution operations. The Logistics Manager will be responsible for managing the flow of goods, materials, and information between suppliers, manufacturers, and customers. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Management:

  • Oversee and manage the entire logistics process, including procurement, transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and customers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between internal teams (e.g., procurement, warehouse, sales) to meet business demands and customer expectations.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock while avoiding overstocking or stockouts.
  • Track and analyze inventory turnover to improve inventory planning and replenishment strategies.
  • Coordinate regular stock audits and ensure accurate inventory records.

Transportation Management:

  • Develop and implement efficient transportation strategies to reduce shipping costs and improve delivery times.
  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Optimize transportation routes and ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, train, and supervise the logistics team, including warehouse staff, drivers, and other logistics personnel.
  • Foster a positive work environment, ensuring high levels of productivity, safety, and employee satisfaction.
  • Set clear performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.

Process Optimization & Improvement:

  • Continuously assess logistics processes and systems to identify areas for improvement, ensuring operational efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Implement technology solutions (e.g., logistics software, automation tools) to streamline logistics operations and enhance data visibility.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to recommend improvements to logistics operations.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including transportation, customs, and safety standards.
  • Develop and enforce company policies and procedures for logistics operations, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to logistics operations, including transportation delays, inventory damage, and other disruptions.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare and present regular reports on logistics performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and transportation costs.
  • Analyze logistics data to make informed decisions and optimize processes.
  • Forecast logistics needs and budget for transportation, warehousing, and related expenses.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., APICS, CSCMP) are a plus.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of [8 -10] years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field,
  • Proven track record of successfully managing logistics operations, inventory, transportation, and supply chain optimization.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics software, transportation management systems (TMS), and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage budgets and resources efficiently.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards related to logistics and transportation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
