Job description
  • Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs.
  • Manage and motivate a staff team.
  • Responsible for the coordination between the construction site and HQ for all logistics operations.
  • Material reconciliation, managing the flow of materials inbound and outbound from receiving, handling, proper storage, and material issuing to the construction.
  • Manage equipment and personnel to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the construction site.
  • Close collaboration with various departments, suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure flawless logistics processes.
  • Responsible for inland transport management to arrange the inbound/outbound delivery of goods for material distribution, equipment, and supplies at all worksites to ensure timely and efficient use.
  • Establish and manage on-site logistics infrastructure, including laydown areas and storage facilities.

1. Material Management

  • Coordinate with project logistics and post-order for the planning of material receiving and requirements.
  • Coordinate with equipment suppliers and rental companies to ensure availability and functionality.

2. Transport / Customs Clearance Management

  • Shipment follow-up, cooperation with the procurement office, carrier, customs clearance agent, and Al Khobar administration office.
  • Dealing with MOI for customs clearance.
  • Follow up with customs clearance agents and shipping companies.
  • Ability to use the SABER and SASO platforms.
  • Knowledge of packing list/delivery note issuance.
  • Knowledge of shipping documents such as Bill of Lading and AWB.
  • Knowledge of traffic regulations in Saudi Arabia for oversize transport and how to handle cargo transportation smoothly.

3. Team Leadership and Management

  • Lead and supervise a team of logistics personnel, including coordinators, officers, and drivers.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to team members to enhance their skills and ensure efficient operations.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement corrective actions as needed.

4. Stakeholder Communication and Coordination

  • Develop business by gaining new contracts, analyzing logistical problems, and producing solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to align logistics activities with project requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for logistics-related issues and concerns, resolving conflicts and facilitating communication.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are informed of logistics plans, schedules, and changes.

5. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance

  • Ensure all logistics activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, implementing corrective actions to address any non-compliance issues.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement among the logistics team and site personnel.

6. Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports on logistics activities, including delivery schedules, inventory levels, and equipment usage.
  • Provide regular updates to the Corporate Logistics Manager on logistics performance and any issues impacting project progress.
  • Maintain documentation for compliance and audit purposes.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
