Reporting to the Transportation Manager, this individual will be responsible for the business’s transportation and logistics operations. This person will be the conduit between Supply Chain, Operations, Customer Service, Systems, Sales, Customers and Vendors.
Working Hours: Monday-Friday - 11:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and schedule all shipping activities.
Provide assistance in warehouse space utilization for OB Load Staging.
Develop delivery schedules and drop shipment strategies.
Maintain accurate records and files.
Meet with Transportation Manager to identify and resolve problems.
Prepare and present daily shipping plan and other correspondence as appropriate and necessary.
Work cross-functionally with various departments to maximize daily OB Shipments.
Effectively communicate and escalate business challenges to supervisor.
Review and monitor inbound and outbound transportation requirements.
Coordinate between planning, production, and shipping to ensure transportation schedule alignment.
Participate and assist with physical inventories.
Work on special projects as directed.
Responsible for carrying out company policy and initiatives.
Requirements:
1-3 years’ experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, manufacturing, or a combination.
Experience in a warehouse, transportation, and manufacturing environments.
Functional knowledge of global and domestic supply chain concepts.
Experience with MS Excel.
Knowledge – Skills – Abilities:
Knowledge of manufacturing scheduling/planning.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Experience working with ERP systems.
Ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines while performing with a high degree of accuracy.
Interpersonal skills to collaborate at various technical levels, with individuals in other business functions, and the potential to grow in a career.
Must possess strong planning, organization, time management, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing plant.
Occasionally may be required to reach, squat, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs.
