WSP is looking for a Lead MEP Engineer with 25 years of experience in overall responsibility of supervision, coordination of construction, inspection, testing and commissioning for an Entertainment and Tourism Mega Project based in the Southwest of Riyadh.
Your new role, what's involved
- Develop and establish a comprehensive construction management plan, ensuring uniform administration of all contracts in accordance with prescribed standards and practices, specifically focusing on MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems.
- Initiate and respond to contractual correspondence with the Client, as well as manage communications with the Contractor related to MEP systems and components.
- Officiate the official handover of the site to the contractor, with a specific emphasis on the MEP elements of the project and their integration into the construction process.
- Arrange, chair, and document various meetings, starting with the kick-off meeting and extending to progress and management meetings, addressing MEP engineering concerns and progress.
- Establish robust procedures for inspection approvals, testing, and commissioning, particularly focusing on the MEP systems to ensure compliance with contract requirements and standards.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on the contractors Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) plan, emphasizing MEP safety aspects and adherence to industry standards.
- Review and offer comments on the contractors programs, emphasizing the MEP engineering aspects, ensuring they demonstrate compliance with contractual requirements and industry best practices.
- Regularly monitor the contractor's progress on MEP systems during construction, conducting assessments to ensure compliance with MEP specifications and project milestones.
- Implement and adhere to Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, specifically focusing on the quality assurance of MEP installations, and conduct regular audits to verify compliance.
- Ensure timely liaison between the contractor and relevant MEP service authorities, minimizing potential impacts on project progress through attendance at meetings, monitoring agreed-upon programs, and consistent follow-up.
- Certify interim and final payments related to MEP works after a thorough review and consultation with the responsible Resident Engineer (RE), Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE), and Quantity Surveyor.
- Prepare comprehensive substantial completion reports for MEP aspects, addressing any outstanding requirements, and issue taking-over and defects liability certificates specific to MEP components as stipulated by the contract.

- Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical or a relevant discipline.
- 25 years experience of managing major construction projects.
- Comprehensive experience in associated discipline software.
- Experienced in the supervision of FIDIC based contracts.
