Specific Accountabilities

1. Overall supervision of electrical engineers.
2. Technical competence of electrical engineering personnel.
3. Forecast requirement for electrical engineering resources and allocate those resources.
4. Instrument/electrical design integrity of work scope and maintenance of standards.
5. Identify electrical software necessary to enable instrument/electrical group to function effectively.
6. Inter discipline communication development.
7. Electrical group communication development.
8. Prepare electrical manhour estimate to perform project tasks.
9. Check compliance with Alliance QA/safety/environment goals.
10. Promote Alliance culture in electrical engineering group.
11. Manage electrical design and any design changes within budget and schedule.
12. Evaluate new technology advancements against existing design standards and revise where applicable.
13. Promote cost reduction and productivity enhancing initiatives.
14. Promote career development within the group.
15. Identify and review new technology development which could be applicable in providing more cost effective facilities.
16. Technical supervision of project designated electrical designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duty.
17. Prepare weekly electrical progress and expenditure reports on a project specific basis.
18. Benchmark electrical design/drafting and identify areas of improvement.
19. Quality Assurance: Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the BU.
20. Safety: Responsible for personal safety and safe working practices for the BU. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.

Qualifications

1. Degree in Electrical Engineering.
2. Field / Site experience in construction projects.
3. Availability to work in remote areas and adapt to location conditions.
