Job Summary:
The Lead Electrical Construction Engineer will take charge of all electrical engineering activities during the construction phase of projects, ensuring the successful design, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems. This role involves leadership in managing the electrical engineering team, coordinating with other project disciplines, and driving projects to meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards. The Lead Engineer is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety requirements, providing technical oversight, and delivering innovative solutions for complex electrical challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage all aspects of electrical construction activities, from design review to installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Act as the primary point of contact for electrical engineering within the construction project, coordinating with project managers and other stakeholders.
• Oversee the electrical design process, ensuring designs are feasible, cost-effective, and compliant with local regulations and codes.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the electrical construction team, providing direction, mentorship, and support to junior engineers and contractors.
• Ensure that all electrical installations adhere to project specifications, timelines, safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to source electrical materials, equipment, and services, ensuring timely delivery and cost control.
• Perform technical reviews of electrical drawings, plans, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to address potential issues in the electrical construction phase.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues on-site and provide quick and effective solutions to keep the project on track.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports, project updates, and documentation throughout the construction process.
• Implement and promote the latest technologies, energy-efficient solutions, and best practices in electrical engineering.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical construction, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations, particularly in the construction sector.
• Proven ability to manage large teams and multiple contractors in a dynamic construction environment.
• Excellent project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to address and resolve complex electrical challenges.
Certifications:
• Certification in project management, such as PMP, is advantageous.
