In this role, you will lead a team to manage subcontracts and monitor operations. You will develop the subcontracting strategy, operating procedures, staffing plan, and the contracts section of the Project Execution Plan.

• Must produce a work product and ensure the same out of all team members to achieve management expectations.
• Engage as part of the project management senior team with other team members and the customer.
• Participate in delivery related meetings, working with the area team and supporting the Area Contract Managers.
• Leadership of teams to establish systems, procedures and controls.
• Team management, guidance and development to effectively resolve change events, claims and disputes.
• Performs and manages commercial matters to resolution.
• Provides functional direction and supervision to the Area Contract Managers and contract administration team.
• Leads contracts and commercial teams and is responsible for the implementation of Contract & Commercial Management Procedures.
• The review of Contract general terms and conditions to highlight areas of risk.
• The development and management of appropriate mechanisms to monitor compliance with contract terms.
• Working with the other Project Team members to ensure actions or inactions which could result in contract changes or claims are identified.

• Degree in Business, Quantity Surveying, Law or Engineering desirable.
• Over 25 years of experience in commercial or contracts management on mega-programs/projects.
• Over 10 years of team leadership.

• Experience and courses in pricing, contract law, contract drafting, administration and negotiation.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork capabilities suitable for managing a large team.
• Proficiency in the formation and administration of major infrastructure projects.
• Comprehensive knowledge of contract management and negotiations.
• Extensive commercial management knowledge.
• Direct experience in personnel selection, salary planning, performance evaluations.
• Demonstrated capability to prepare and make presentations.
• Knowledge of when to engage legal counsel.
• Working knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices.
• Extensive skill in working and communicating effectively with other project functional groups.
• Able to mentor and guide teams.
