As a Kitchen Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of kitchen and refrigeration equipment. Your primary duties will include performing routine maintenance, diagnosing and fixing issues, and ensuring the efficient operation of all kitchen appliances and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repairs: Perform repairs and maintenance duties on a wide variety of kitchen and refrigeration equipment such as walk-in freezers, industrial-sized steam cookers, refrigerators, ice machines, washers, ovens, dryers, dishwashers, and water coolers.
Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure the proper functioning of kitchen equipment and prevent potential issues.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve equipment issues, such as leaks, malfunctions, and inefficiencies, in a timely and efficient manner.
Installation: Install new kitchen equipment and ensure proper settings on wiring controls. Replace defective or old parts as needed.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local building codes, health and safety regulations, and hotel policies. Swiftly correct unsafe conditions in the workplace and report any non-correctable conditions to the supervisor.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.
Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance workers, hotel staff, and management to address maintenance needs and ensure a seamless guest experience.
Customer Service: Interact courteously with guests and staff, addressing kitchen equipment-related concerns and providing excellent customer service.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a technical or trade school program in kitchen equipment maintenance is preferred.
Experience: Proven experience as a kitchen technician, preferably in a hospitality or commercial setting.
Skills:
Strong technical knowledge of kitchen and refrigeration equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
