Key Account Manager, Strategic Accounts & Projects, Saudi Arabia

Your Role

As a Key Account Manager in our Life Science, Science & Lab Solutions division, you will be instrumental in managing and growing our relationships with key customers in the life science sector. Your primary focus will be on understanding customer needs, delivering tailored solutions, and ensuring the highest level of satisfaction for key customers within Saudi Arabia. A key part of your role will be to add considerable value to existing & future country specific projects through our innovative products & services. Your efforts will directly contribute to our vision of partnering with customers to focus on accelerating science. The role will be based in Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with a defined set of existing and new potential customers, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs and challenges.
  2. Business Development: Conduct thorough market research to identify new business opportunities and trends. Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with the company’s goals and set measurable objectives and KPIs to track progress and success.
  3. Sales and Revenue Growth: Identify opportunities to expand business within key accounts, aiming to meet or exceed sales and revenue targets.
  4. Account Planning and Strategy: Develop and execute strategic account plans, including regular reviews and updates to ensure alignment with customer objectives and company goals.
  5. Solution Delivery: Provide expert knowledge and insights on our products and services, presenting customized solutions to meet customer needs.
  6. Product and Service Advocacy: Promote our products and services, providing expert knowledge and insights to customers to help them make informed purchasing decisions.
  7. Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues or concerns customers may have, coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely and satisfactory solutions.
  8. Market and Industry Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes that may impact key accounts and industries.
  9. Reporting and Analysis: Maintain all communications and opportunities in relevant CRM systems and provide information to relevant teams to deliver regular sales reports and market insights to senior management.
  10. Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, Global Export Operations, and Technical Service teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Who you are:

  1. Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or biological sciences.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of account management or sales experience in the life science industry, with key account management experience a plus.
  3. Knowledge: Good understanding of the life science sector, including key market players, trends, and regulatory environment in Saudi Arabia.
  4. Travel: Ability and willingness to travel min. 50% of time; driving license required.
  5. Skills:
    1. Sales Acumen: Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
    2. Communication: Excellent verbal and written science communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively in English and Arabic.
    3. Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to develop and maintain productive professional relationships.
    4. Problem-Solving: Creative and analytical thinker with the ability to identify and resolve customer issues effectively.
    5. Organizational: Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
