The role
AS&H Clifford Chance leads the market on legislative drafting, regulatory and public policy matters. This practice is headed up by Dr. Fahad Abuhimed the managing partner of AS&H, who who was previously a deputy minister in one of the government ministries himself. Therefore, we are well and truly at the forefront of advising Saudi government entities and their consultants and suppliers on strategic mandates to revise and update legislation and benchmark it against legislation around the world. We regularly advise a number of regulators or governmental bodies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on policies, regulations, rules and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in project management tasks and support senior lawyers in overseeing projects to successful conclusions.
Participate in drafting assessment reports, benchmarking exercises, and gap analysis for various government ministries and agencies.
Contribute to policy formulation and assist in drafting the English version of legislation.
Coordinate with other Clifford Chance offices to gather specialist knowledge and build a personal network of experts.
Engage in a variety of work involving imaginative ideas and concepts, often referencing international best practices.

Qualifications
Your experience
The position is suitable for a highly motivated junior lawyer with a keen interest in public policy.
While experience in governmental affairs, policy formulation, and regulatory matters is advantageous, it is not essential.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks efficiently are required.
Demonstrate the ability to assist in cross-office exercises such as benchmarking, including drafting, reviewing, and analysing reports.
Experience in drafting memoranda of advice and presenting to clients is beneficial.
Strong communication and analytical skills, along with a high level of commercial awareness, are essential.
A desire for client exposure and the opportunity to develop personal client relationships is important.
Ability to work closely with senior associates and partners, and to support team efforts effectively.
