Job Description:

As a Senior JIRA Administrator you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and configuration of JIRA and Confluence systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring these tools effectively support our project/deployment management and collaboration needs. Your extensive experience in JIRA administration and hands-on expertise with Confluence and JIRA plug-in will be key to driving the efficiency and productivity of our teams. Candidates should have experience of more than 7 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. JIRA Administration:
    • Oversee the administration, configuration, and maintenance of JIRA instances.
    • Customize JIRA projects, workflows, permission schemes, notification schemes, and screen schemes.
    • Implement JIRA add-ons, plugins, and scripts to enhance functionality.
    • Perform regular system audits and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security.
    • Provide user support and training for JIRA usage and best practices.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement custom solutions.
  2. JIRA Service Management:
    • Administer and configure JIRA Service Management (JSM) projects.
    • Design and manage customer portals, SLAs, and queues.
    • Implement automation rules to streamline service desk operations.
    • Monitor and report on service desk performance metrics and KPIs.
    • Provide support for incident, problem, and change management processes.
    • Ensure compliance with ITIL practices within the JSM environment.
  3. Confluence Administration:
    • Manage and configure Confluence spaces, pages, and templates.
    • Implement and maintain Confluence add-ons and integrations.
    • Optimize Confluence for content management, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
    • Conduct regular system maintenance, upgrades, and performance tuning.
    • Provide user training and support for Confluence best practices.
    • Develop and enforce content management policies and standards.
  4. Development and Customization:
    • Customize JIRA workflows, dashboards, and reports to meet the needs of various teams and projects.
    • Search and develop custom JIRA and Confluence plugins and scripts using Groovy, Java, and other relevant technologies.
    • Create custom reports, dashboards, and filters to meet business needs.
    • Integrate JIRA and Confluence with other enterprise systems and tools (e.g., Gitlab, Slack, Teams, and Zendesk).
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to custom development and integrations.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest Atlassian product updates, marketplace apps, and industry trends.
    • Integrate JIRA with other tools and systems, such as CI/CD pipelines, to automate processes and enhance efficiency.
    • Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline administrative tasks.
  5. User Support and Training:
    • Provide technical support and training to JIRA and Confluence users, ensuring they can effectively utilize these tools.
    • Author and maintain documentation, including user guides, best practices, and troubleshooting procedures.
    • Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to keep users updated on new features and functionalities.
  6. Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their requirements and optimize JIRA and Confluence configurations accordingly.
    • Stay updated on the latest developments and best practices in JIRA and Confluence administration.
    • Participate in system design and architecture discussions.
    • Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and enhance the overall user experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in JIRA administration and hands-on expertise with Confluence.
  • Proven experience in configuring and managing JIRA plug-ins.
  • Strong understanding of JIRA workflows, permissions, and schemes.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Groovy) for automation purposes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support users at all levels.
  • Experience with integrating JIRA and Confluence with other tools and systems.
  • Certification in JIRA administration (preferred).
