IT Technician

The IT Technician will assist with the Audio & Visual responsibilities under the supervision of the IT Manager to facilitate A/V production/event needs. Additionally, the technician will assist the IT Manager in various assignments related to the function of Media Services. The technician will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of audio & visual equipment/systems by performing the following duties:

1. Perform preventive maintenance of A/V equipment using available resources.
2. Address operational issues of projectors, DVD players, laptops, computers, video cameras, streaming equipment, and sound recording equipment.
3. Maintain A/V systems in classrooms, lecture halls, seminar halls, the main auditorium, housing, and overall premises regarding all media issues.
4. Manage speakers, microphones, wireless microphones, mixing boards, amplifiers, internet streaming equipment, and occasionally assistive listening devices.
5. Provide services and support personnel, and follow employees and events.
6. Install classroom technology equipment following college standards.
7. Train instructors, staff, and student workers in the proper use of various types of instructional media equipment and demonstrate the operation of such equipment.
8. Handle printers and phone installation, as well as software and driver installation.
9. Solve software/hardware issues, including email and internet issues.

1. Active Registration Membership in SCE (Saudi Council of Engineers).
2. 1 – 2 years of experience.
3. The Technical Services Specialist must be familiar with or willing to learn about sound equipment, mixing boards, and various types of video equipment. The specialist should be reliable and flexible to work at many events throughout the year. The candidate should possess basic customer service skills and be a problem solver capable of following written and oral procedures and policies. The candidate must be a confident self-starter who desires to improve the support provided by the Media Services team.
