Your day at NTT DATA
The Information System Engineer is a seasoned subject matter expert, responsible for delivering enterprise-level IT support and maintenance of various IT services into the organization. The core responsibilities of this role include leveraging engineering tools and processes for effective installation, configuration, operation and maintenance and support of company infrastructure and systems. This role works independently and uses troubleshooting skills to research and resolve issues considered as medium- to complex in nature.

What you'll be doing

  1. Installs, tests and maintains new hardware or software to provide new services or to resolve user and system problems.
  2. Performs troubleshooting and system analysis to resolve incidents and to ensure system availability.
  3. Performs system administration tasks including configuration, systems monitoring, troubleshooting, and support.
  4. Tests and validates new system to ensure that they fulfill the request functionality and quality.
  5. Implements backup and recovery procedures to ensure the needed availability.
  6. Implements and performs system monitoring for proactive support by collecting for example availability, performance metrics and system logs.
  7. Performs hardware or software upgrades and patching to support vulnerability and risk management.
  8. Defines, raises and executes changes as part of the Change Management Process.
  9. Creates system documentation and maintains fixes, modification or other changes.
  10. Executes tasks as part of the request fulfillment.
  11. Escalates and collaborates with vendors or other delivery organizations if needed to provide the right level of support.
  12. Identifies and documents potential problems of the system within the ticket tool.
  13. Identifies and suggests possible service improvements.
  14. Creates and manages tickets for the Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management and Request Fulfillment.
  15. Documents work results, actions taken, steps to resolve, effort and resolution time in the ticketing system.
  16. Performs other tasks as defined, planned, and approved by leadership team.
  17. Works with senior members of the team to get guidance about working procedures and technical possibilities to ensure the highest level of systems availability.
  18. Performs other tasks as defined, planned, and approved by leadership.

Required Knowledge and Attributes:
- Seasoned knowledge of the needed infrastructure technology or Software, Office 365, Microsoft Windows Servers, VMware, and Microsoft Exchange Server.
- Seasoned knowledge of the underlying protocols of the used technology.
- Seasoned proficiency at troubleshooting and good technical understanding.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to explain technical content to senior leadership/management level.
- Seasoned knowledge of ITIL support process (Incident, Change and Request Management).
- Ability to fully understand the business processes which are delivered with the managed system.
- Ability to research and evaluate new technologies to improve the outcome of the delivered services.
- Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Ability to work and collaborate with teams from several business areas/functions in facilitating projects.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to utilize key systems and tools related to information technology.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or related field.
- Microsoft Certifications are preferred.

Required Experience:
Minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience in IT Systems.
