An IT Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel's IT infrastructure. Here are the typical day-to-day activities for this position:


Day-to-Day Activities of an IT Assistant Manager


  1. System Maintenance and Monitoring: Overseeing the daily operation of the hotel's IT systems, including servers, networks, and software applications. Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting any issues that arise to ensure minimal downtime.
  2. User Support and Training: Providing technical support to hotel staff and guests, addressing any IT-related issues they encounter. Conducting training sessions for staff on new software and IT procedures.
  3. Network Management: Managing the hotel's network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, to ensure reliable and secure connectivity for guests and staff. Implementing network security measures to protect against cyber threats.
  4. Software and Hardware Management: Installing, configuring, and updating software and hardware as needed. Ensuring that all IT equipment is functioning properly and coordinating repairs or replacements when necessary.
  5. Data Management and Security: Overseeing data backup processes to ensure data integrity and availability. Implementing and maintaining data security protocols to protect sensitive information.
  6. Vendor Coordination: Liaising with external vendors for IT services and equipment. Managing contracts and service agreements to ensure the hotel receives quality IT support.
  7. Project Management: Assisting in the planning and execution of IT projects, such as system upgrades or new technology implementations. Coordinating with other departments to ensure IT projects align with the hotel's overall goals.
  8. Reporting and Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of IT activities, including system performance, incidents, and maintenance tasks. Preparing reports for senior management on IT operations and project progress.

Skills and Qualities Needed


  1. Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, and software applications.
  2. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  3. Communication Skills: Communicating effectively with staff, guests, and vendors.
  4. Organizational Skills: Managing multiple tasks and maintaining detailed records.
  5. Leadership and Teamwork: Leading a team of IT professionals and collaborating with other departments.

What we need from you


Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for:

  1. Bachelor’s degree, higher education qualification or equivalent in Hotel Administration / Business Administration
  2. Two to Three years’ prior tenure in a similar role
  3. International luxury hotel chain background
  4. GCC exposure
  5. English Fluency is required
  6. Arabic Fluency is preferred
