IT Application System Specialist

As a recognized Company expert in a particular area of Information Technology and related discipline, the incumbent provides the highest level of technical expertise and professional assistance, advice, guidance in the development and utilization of new and existing computer systems, equipment, techniques and facilities.

The incumbent originates solutions to unusual or unique problems, initiates or participates in major feasibility and cost studies, and recommends alternatives for meeting forecasted workloads based on the most extensive knowledge of current and long range trends in computer technology, systems applications and overall computing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participates in the activities of computer and professional societies; serves on working committees within such groups; may attend national and international conferences. Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact by developing, maintaining and working to stakeholder engagement strategies and plans.
• Maintains professional and technical up-to-date job knowledge by acquiring related technical certifications, attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, participating in educational opportunities, knowledge sharing activities, and reading technical publications.
• Analyzes special assignments pertaining to recurring applications or operations problems; proposes scope and course of action; recommends the use of task forces, if required; makes suggestions to Management; follows through to a satisfactory conclusion. Ensures that service delivery meets agreed service levels.
• Responsible for resource planning and work allocation to meet agreed service levels.
• Provides guidance in start-up phases of new major systems or projects; reviews proposals for cross-company applications, takes responsibility for definition, approach, facilitation and completion of medium scale projects.
• Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project. Coordinates with all SAO related entities and vendors.
• Reviews existing operations within his area of assignment to determine potential problems; performs cost analyses and performance surveys; recommends and develops solutions to problems and deficiencies; suggests revisions to standards and procedures, as necessary.
• Keeps informed of trends in the computer industry; analyzes and provides information about the economic options for feasible future Company investments in computer resources; studies the latest developments in the fields of Information Technology, Industrial Revolution & Digital Transformation.
• Guides and trains personnel, resolves recurring problems during utilization of systems; monitors technical work performance for adherence to accepted professional standards and Aramco’s internal standards.
• Identifies skillsets, training and certification needs of the organization. Advises on required outcomes for learning and organizational development needs. Supervises individuals and teams.
