Summary
As aConsultant Interventional Radiology atKing Fahad Military Medical Complex you will specialize in minimally invasive image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions. Your expertise in vascular and non-vascular interventions will contribute to high-quality patient care, working closely with multidisciplinary teams in an advanced clinical setting
Education / Qualifications Required
- Basic medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Post-qualification certification from one of the following:
- USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
- Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
- UK & Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
- Australia & New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
- Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
Experience Required
- Minimum 3 yearspost-board certification for candidates from USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and France (DES).
- Minimum 5 yearspost-board certification for candidates from Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece, and France (DIS).
License & Certifications
- Current and in Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
- BLS/ACLS Certification (Basic & Advanced Life Support).
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
- Diagnose and perform a wide range of interventional radiology procedures, including but not limited to:
- Vascular Interventions: Angioplasty, stenting, embolization, thrombolysis.
- Oncologic Interventions: Tumor ablation, chemoembolization, radioembolization.
- Non-Vascular Interventions: Drainage procedures, biopsies, vertebroplasty, pain management interventions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide precise image-guided treatments.
- Ensure accurate interpretation of imaging studies (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy) to guide interventions.
- Maintain high standards in patient safety, procedural efficiency, and quality control.
- Participate in on-call duties for emergency interventional procedures.
Academic & Research Responsibilities
- Train and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students in interventional radiology techniques.
- Engage in clinical research and contribute to advancements in interventional radiology.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in interventional procedures.
Administrative & Quality Improvement
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and patient safety protocols.
- Contribute to departmental quality assurance programs for continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement protocols for procedural safety and efficiency.
