Role Purpose:
- Organize and manage interfaces to achieve project objectives in accordance with NEOM's policies and procedures across all project management fields.
- Develop and implement effective strategies for managing interfaces addressing various interface topics.
Key Accountabilities & Activities
Planning and Strategy:
- Conduct assessments, analyze, and comprehend interface topics, and oversee and ensure their progress to achieve the desired objective in a timely manner.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all parties (clients, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and any other parties) engaged in the interface topic.
- Support and implement the development of comprehensive interface management plans and strategies to identify, track, record, and report interface topic management through all project stages.
- Engage and collaborate with diverse partners, such as NEOM sectors, NEOM proponents, Saudi authorities, project team members, and contractors. Foster effective communication, address concerns, and align objectives.
- Review project documents and plans; this involves collecting and analyzing data, identifying gaps and areas for development, and ensuring adherence to project specifications, NEOM environmental standards, and safety and quality protocols.
- Identify potential interface risks, carry out risk assessments, and implement risk mitigation measures to eliminate or minimize their impact on the project.
- Manage relationships among interface topic parties to ensure strong communication, good relations, and common understanding throughout the project stages to ensure alignment and resolve interface topics promptly.
- Proactively seek opportunities for continuous improvement in the interface management approach.
- Stay updated on industry trends, research innovative technologies, and recommend improvements to the interface management scheme to reduce interface risk.
- Provide vision and leadership to the Interface Management team to ensure performance effectiveness and efficiency.
People Management:
- Help instill a culture of development, guidance, and performance within an Interface.
- Take responsibility, in collaboration with the Interface Director, for building and maintaining a high-performance team.
- Participate in setting performance requirements and recruiting for positions across the Interface Office.
- Set performance objectives, provide necessary support, evaluate/appraise staff, and provide regular feedback on performance.
- Promote a high-performance working environment embracing NEOM’s values.
- Develop and implement a program of capacity development for Interface staff.
Background, Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of the best practices and regulations of the construction industry, along with a comprehensive understanding of interface management techniques and processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Proven experience in managing relationships with environmental management authorities, including the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, National Center for Environmental Compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive sustainable environmental management practices.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and practices related to construction and operation management.
- Knowledge in environmental assessment and studies reports, environmental modeling, environmental systems, and tools.
- Management skills to effectively manage project teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or a related field (Minimum), master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the environmental industry.
- CPEng Preferable.
