Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment, and weapons.

The job holder is directly responsible to the Instructional Development Specialist (IDS). The Instructional Developer Math & Physics (IDM&P) will perform instructional design and development activities covering the complete lifecycle from training need analysis to post training delivery review. These activities will be related to math and physics courseware and will require direct liaison with multiple stakeholders. The stakeholders will include Customers representatives, Chief Instructors, Senior Instructors, and Subject Matter Experts to ensure that the design and development are compliant with customer requirements and expectations. The IDM&P will work closely with the Courseware Design Specialist and Assurance Team Leader to ensure the effective deployment of new and revised training material and focus on developing training materials in accordance with the design requirements of the TTP. The job holder will be a key member of the Design and Development Team and will be required to assist in the management of change within the TTP departments and support the effective transition from the current approach to technical training to the future training curriculum.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
The job-holder will be accountable to the Instructional Development Specialist for the following:
- Write courses material and exam questions for both Mathematics and Physics using a mix of HTML and Latex markups.
- Create teaching and learning materials for Mathematics and Physics, incorporating specific applications of aviation and navy.
- Design and develop physics experiments to complement aviation physics textbooks.
- Design and develop a set of activities for a Mathematics Laboratory to meet the requirements of Level 3 City and Guilds.
- Utilize educational software such as Autograph 3D, Equation Editor, Active Inspire, and FX Draw to create engaging learning materials.
- Use ISpring to generate quizzes with feedback in the form of video solutions and comments on given answers.
- Develop PowerPoint presentations to cover Mathematics and Physics lessons.
- Convert PowerPoint lessons to videos with voiceovers chosen from software.
- Induction, training, and mentoring of all design and development staff in the tailored SAT process.
- Support the development, implementation, and continual improvement of toolsets that support and govern the design process.
- Identify and report opportunities for continual improvement.
- Keep up to date in area(s) of expertise to enable training services provided to be fully current and relevant, and to help the Business be aware of new developments.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential
- Bachelor's degree or higher in either Mathematics or Physics.
- A recognised formal instructor qualification with extensive teaching/instructional experience.
- Experienced in curriculum design and development.
- English language ability to IELTS 6.0 or equivalent achieved within the last 2 years for non-native speakers.
- Working knowledge of Systems Approach to Training (SAT) or Instructional Systems Development (ISD).
- Be able to use educational software such as Autograph 3D, Equation Editor, Active Inspire, FX Draw, and ISpring Natural Reader.
- Be able to use descriptive markup language such as HTML and Latex to render mathematical formulas and documents.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills and team player.
- Demonstrated knowledge of configuration management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance activities.
- Be able to work independently and within a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work fast and effectively to meet deadlines.
- Good knowledge of training methodologies, analysis, design and delivery and a proven ability to perform within a training environment.
