The IT Cloud & Infrastructure Architect is a pivotal role responsible for designing, planning, and implementing cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure solutions that support strategic initiatives.

Reporting to the Enterprise Architect, this role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure technology infrastructure is scalable, secure, and aligned with industry best practices.

1. Architecture Design & Implementation:

• Architectural Blueprints: Develop comprehensive architectural diagrams and models, illustrating the structure, relationships, and dependencies of various systems and services.
• Design Patterns: Establish and promote design patterns and best practices, ensuring consistent and efficient system designs.
• Feasibility Analysis: Evaluate feasibility of new projects or system enhancements, identifying potential risks and mitigation strategies.
• Prototyping: Develop prototypes or proof-of-concept models for new technologies or approaches, validating their viability.

2. Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Requirement Gathering: Engage with business stakeholders to understand and document detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
• Vendor Collaboration: Coordinate with external technology vendors for solution assessments, integrations, and optimization.
• Team Guidance: Offer technical leadership and guidance to development and QA teams during the implementation phase, ensuring alignment with architectural designs.
• Feedback Loop: Establish channels for receiving and acting upon feedback from end-users and system administrators.

3. Regulatory & Compliance:

• Compliance Audits: Regularly audit existing systems to ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards.
• Continuous Monitoring: Stay updated with evolving regulations in the financial sector and anticipate the architectural changes needed to maintain compliance.
• Security Protocols: Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to incorporate best practices and security protocols in system designs.

4. Technology Leadership:

• Research: Keep up to date with the latest technological trends and innovations in the financial sector.
• Training: Organize training sessions for development and product teams on new technologies, tools, and architectural principles.
• Decision Making: Lead technology evaluation, making decisions on the inclusion or exclusion of specific tools, platforms, or methodologies.

5. Documentation & Reporting:

• Architectural Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation for all architectural decisions, design patterns, and methodologies, ensuring they are easily accessible to relevant teams.
• Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor metrics to assess the performance, reliability, and scalability of systems.
• Stakeholder Updates: Present regular updates to senior management, highlighting architectural progress, challenges, and strategic recommendations.
• Collaborative Tools: Utilize collaborative tools and platforms (e.g., Confluence, Jira) to maintain transparency and foster collaboration among teams.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years experience in infrastructure and cloud architecture, with at least 5 years specific to the financial services industry.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive cloud and infrastructure strategy that aligns with the bank's business objectives and long-term IT goals.
• Lead cloud adoption efforts, including designing cloud architectures, selecting cloud service providers, and ensuring a secure and cost-effective transition.
• Create detailed infrastructure designs, including server architecture, network configurations, storage solutions, and disaster recovery plans.
• Ensure that infrastructure solutions meet security and compliance requirements, implementing best practices for data protection and privacy.
• Assess and recommend new infrastructure technologies and tools to enhance the technology capabilities and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of system failures or disasters.
• Monitor and analyze infrastructure performance, ensuring scalability to accommodate growing needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), virtualization technologies, and network design.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture principles, security practices, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IAC) and automation tools.
