Position Summary:
The Information Technology Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of IT systems, hardware, and software within the retail store environment. This role includes providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, and maintaining IT systems, software, and infrastructure to support store operations, customer service, and employee productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
- Provide on-site and remote IT support to retail store staff.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
- Resolve point-of-sale (POS) system problems to minimize downtime.
System Maintenance:
- Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment, including computers, POS systems, printers, CCTV, fingerprint devices, and people counters.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
Network Management:
- Monitor and maintain network connectivity within the store.
- Address Wi-Fi, LAN, and internet-related issues effectively.
Inventory and Asset Management:
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT assets in the store.
- Ensure proper tagging, tracking, and documentation of hardware and software.
Training and Documentation:
- Provide training to store staff on IT systems and tools.
- Develop and maintain user guides, FAQs, and troubleshooting manuals.
Compliance and Security:
- Ensure all IT systems comply with company policies and security standards.
- Monitor and mitigate potential security threats to safeguard data.
- Work closely with the IT team and store management to implement technology solutions.
- Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers for repairs and maintenance.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are preferred.
