Job description

Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician

Location: Medina, OH (On-Site)

Job Summary:

This individual will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance required to maintain our industrial equipment and facility at an optimal level of operation with an emphasis on mechanical power transmission, electrical, hydraulics and pneumatics. Maintenance experience with industrial controls, 480-volt 3 phase electrical feeders, machining, robotics, and CNC is a plus. Individual will be required to work on mechanical and hydraulic presses, furnaces, grinders, steel preparation and coating equipment, gear shapers, robotics, CNC machining centers, laser cutters, gear shapers, dust and fume collection equipment, and HVAC equipment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  1. Ensure that safety standards are maintained while performing duties.
  2. Perform corrective maintenance on equipment.
  3. Carry out routine checks on production equipment.
  4. Carry out regular preventive maintenance on equipment following standards and allotted time for completion.
  5. Carry out regular preventive maintenance on facilities to mitigate major damage.
  6. Diagnose and repair or replace worn parts in machines and equipment.
  7. The preventive activities of a technician in this role may include maintaining correct fluid levels on machines.
  8. Carry out replacement of filters and changing of oil and grease. Complete assigned Lubrication Routes on equipment.
  9. Ensure that the facility areas and work environment are free of hazardous objects and substances.
  10. May be required to assist external technicians/sub-contractors during external PM’s.
  11. Work with Planner to keep proper record of work activities, including updating PM standard work procedures, PM part list and tools.
  12. Submit reports on work activities and progress of work to the supervisor.

Competencies:

  1. Work independently or as part of a group to PM, troubleshoot and repair existing equipment and facility systems.
  2. Identify root cause of equipment failures and suggest preventive actions.
  3. Follow written instructions to perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities.
  4. Work with engineering to upgrade existing equipment for enhanced safety, functionality, and/or reliability.
  5. Identify and order machine components and materials required to complete any given job.
  6. Accurately estimate time required to complete any given job.
  7. Interface with our computerized maintenance management system to retrieve work orders and preventive maintenance activities, issue parts, and record closing information.
  8. Work flexible hours, be willing to stay over to complete critical tasks, and work weekend hours when needed.
  9. Must be willing and able to travel occasionally as required (not typically a part of job function, for training purposes, <5%).

Education & Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong working knowledge of mechanical power transmission, hydraulics and pneumatics, welding and fabricating, pipe fitting, and construction trades.
  2. Must possess strong communication skills, analytical abilities and the ability to multi-task.
