- Responsible for organizing and managing teams of operators and cranes. The team will be operating various types and sizes of cranes. The supervisor crane operator will be managing the wellbeing of personnel, equipment, and IMI assets.
- Responsible for implementing Technical Services and Corporate Goals and Objectives for lifting, advise most efficient, cost effective and safe techniques and equipment suitable for accomplishing desired results in given time and budget, while preserving the function of our physical assets throughout their life period and willing to share his knowledge.

Key Accountabilities
- Timely identification of hazards and risks in Lifting and transportation operations in which he/she is involved in review and support documentation preparation and coming up with mitigation proposals.
- Cost conscious approach for utilization of equipment and manpower. Timely reporting of all work-related matters to Division & Department Management
- Identification of improvement opportunities in Lifting and transportation operations to optimize cost and utilization and increase life cycle.
- Assists as required in specification of new cranes and required upgrades, as well as selection of suppliers.
- Ensures OEM requirements/instructions and IMI procedures are followed related to his area/equipment.
- Accountable for proper set up of cranes, positioning, and configuration according to lift plans.
- Leading of assigned foremen, crew members and contractors to successful completion of project's Lifting & Rigging requirements. Assisting teams and daily tasks based on operational priorities.
- Support the Superintendents & L&R Manager with planning and maximizing utilization & performance of department resources.
- Reviews Scope of Work of upcoming projects and estimates duration / manpower and equipment for bidding purposes.
- Supports TMS Operational Safety team for complying with quality and safety norms in accordance with Company Policy and QHSE Management System. Review and confirm that all safety & operational requirements are completed & checked prior to conducting any lifting or transfer operation.
- Support / Review lift and rigging plan / forms in conjunction with the lifting and Rigging Engineers for cranes and their load calculation along with sling and shackle arrangements.
- Provide lifting expertise and guidance to Lifting Engineers, Lifting supervisors, and senior planning management.
- Responsible for ensuring that all the requirements (which include method statement, risk assessment, Lifting, rigging study and equipment to use) are adequately defined and for ensuring that the company can meet the operation, projects / contracts requirements.
- Ensure that all lifting and rigging tools being used for the job are within their SWL, duly certified and operational.
- Support department management as required in effective recruitment, selection, training, and certification of personnel; appraising performance; rewarding and counselling His / Her team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems with participation of Technical Services Management.
- Ensure continual process improvement of crane management, lifting and related processes.
- Helps to train local workforce as required and shares his knowledge with the team.
- Other tasks as assigned by Lifting and Rigging Superintendent, Manager and General Manager Technical Services.
Qualifications
- Diploma degree or equivalent.
- Valid crane operator certification and license
- Rigging related qualifications are an advantage
Experience
- At least 15-18 years experience of similar role, preferably within shipbuilding or similar industry.
- Capable of managing multi-disciplinary teams, across a broad range of technologies and implementing training programs.
- Resilient under stress and capable of managing competing priorities.
- Articulate in his speech and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Be Physically active and able to complete a full medical assessment.
- Demonstrates ability to listen to the views of others and respond in a logical, well thought out manner without the need to resort to authority.
- Computer proficient with strong leadership skills.
