ICS/IT Specialist

Roles and Responsibilities

1- System Maintenance and Support:

• Install, configure, and maintain IT systems, software, and hardware used in biomedical research and healthcare environments.
• Provide technical support for biomedical equipment, laboratory information systems (LIS).
• Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related issues in a timely manner.

2- Network and Data Management:

• Ensure the security, integrity, and availability of biomedical data and IT systems.
• Manage network infrastructure, including servers, firewalls, and VPNs, to support biomedical operations.
• Implement and maintain data backup and disaster recovery plans.

3- Medical Device Integration:

• Collaborate with biomedical engineers to integrate medical devices with IT systems.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare IT standards (e.g., HL7, DICOM, ASTM) for medical device connectivity and data exchange.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of connected medical devices.

4- Training and Documentation:

• Train staff on the use of IT systems, software, and biomedical equipment.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, user manuals, and SOPs.

5- Project Management:

• Lead or participate in IT projects related to biomedical research, clinical trials, or healthcare operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including researchers, clinicians, and engineers, to deliver IT solutions.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, HL7, or ASTM) are a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support, preferably in a biomedical, healthcare, or research environment.
• Experience with medical device integration, Hematology, microbiology systems, and laboratory information systems (LIS).
• Familiarity with healthcare IT standards (e.g., HL7, DICOM, ASTM).
• Proficiency in network administration, cybersecurity, and database management.
• Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL) and scripting for automation.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure) and virtualization technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
