Proven expertise with Statcom, Reactive Power Compensation systems (SVC, MSCDN, etc.) and primary and secondary equipment for HV substations up to 400kV.
Experience in operation and maintenance of HVDC/FACTS convert stations.
A track record in the delivery of owner’s engineer, technical advisor or design services.
Capability to work under tight deadlines while achieving objectives, with the ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.
Working for a Statcom, HVDC/FACTS OEM, developer, HVDC interconnector/transmission system owner.
Knowledge of system design including the ability to manage interfaces with relevant equipment, such as valves, reactors, transformers, control and protection, telecommunication, cables or overhead lines, HV switchyard, firefighting, etc.
Job-Specific Responsibilities:
Function as a substation design engineer for FACTS projects like STATCOM involving sub transmission and transmission level voltage classes.
Effectively define project requirements, review project deliverables (physical, P&C, power system design) and collaborate with OEM, Consultant, Company Technical authority and project management.
Convey technical information to the project team, which may include stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.
Provide engineering inputs in high voltage power transmission projects for Statcom components, power electronics related to HVDC and FACTS, BESS.
Ensure accurate determination of the basic requirements for Statcom components and equipment, transformer and busbar control and protection equipment and Statcom auxiliary power supply concepts.
