HSSE & BR Supervisor

Supports the execution of site/facility-based HSE, Security and Quality activities.

Responsible to:

1. Support site management and frontline teams to identify HSSE hazards in their workplace and select controls to eliminate or reduce these.
2. Support site management in her/his duty to determine the root-causes of incidents and eliminating these, including the facilitation of learning teams.
3. Facilitate HSSE legal compliance by identifying applicable legal requirements and advising site management on the ways in which compliance can be achieved.
4. Regularly inspect working practices and factors which may affect workers' health including the state of canteens and housing provided by Maersk.
5. Advise site management on the planning and organisation of work including:
1. How to eliminate HSSE risks through the (re-)design of workplaces and operational activities.
2. Elimination or reduction of risks derived from changes to the design of the workplace or the way it's being used.
3. The prevention of risks through selection, maintenance and condition of installations, machinery, equipment, and tools used as part of work.
4. Control measures needed to mitigate risks radiating from substances used or present in the workplaces.
6. Support HR and site management in measures to support occupational health improvements.
7. Provide information on training and education in the field of HSSE upon request of site management.
8. Coordinate and assure the implementation of emergency response capabilities (first-aid, fire and evacuation).
9. Act as the contact person to external HSSE consultants where needed for highly specialized risk control.
10. Conduct Risk Assessment.

Security & BR role:

1. Be a security point of contact for the site employees, clients, and authorities.
2. Report local security incidents to Security Manager and Site Operation leadership team.
3. Support investigations and ensure corrective and preventive measures are undertaken.
4. Carry out routine security inspections and patrols.
5. Ensure the site security standards are followed, e.g., access controls.
6. Monitor the performance of the site security team and/or vendors, e.g., guards.
7. Assist Security Manager in security awareness/trainings where needed within the site.
8. Be an active participant within the Maersk security management team.
9. Organize/supervise emergency drills.
10. Ensure the security infrastructure is well maintained and performing as intended.
11. Monitor the local risks and disruptions that could impact the site(s) and/or the business.
12. Report business disruptive events to BR Manager and Site Operation leadership team.
13. Assist BR Manager in updating and maintaining the site BR documentation.
14. Support in customer audits and/or regulatory audits.
15. Execution of crisis/incident/emergency management as required.

Accountable for:

1. Routinely visit the sites and assess the activities conducted there to:
1. Identify new health and safety risks.
2. Identify new environmental impacts.
3. Identify potential breaches to HSSE legislation.
4. Identify opportunities to improve HSSE performance.
5. Advise on the need for additional control measures.
6. Monitor progress in completing HSSE relevant actions.
7. Check the implementation of Emergency Response Plans.

Site compliance against Maersk standards and requirements:

1. Liaison with local security authorities.
2. Timely Security and BR incident reporting.
3. Security Guards team performance.
4. Continuous improvement on security performance.
