Overview:

The Upstream HR Business Partnering Department, which is responsible for providing end-to-end HR services to the entire Upstream Business Line, is seeking to hire a Senior HR Business Partner HR with experience leading a HR transformation in a large matrix reporting organization.

Upstream produces up to 12 million barrels of oil and approximately 18 billion standard cubic feet of gas per day. The organization is made up of 8 business units (Admin Areas) and approximately 30,000 employees. The Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a critical link between the company's Corporate HR function and the Upstream Business Line, developing partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-adding services to enable the Upstream business and 2030 growth ambitions. To be effective, the HRBP will develop a deep understanding of the Business Line strategy, key value-drivers, business and workforce plans and culture, and be able to translate these into a people agenda for Upstream organization.

Responsibilities:

  1. Business understanding: Understand the key business challenges and drivers, speak the language of the business, possess a strong understanding of financial figures and analytics, and translate the business strategy and objectives into a people agenda.
  2. Strategic workforce planning: Drive workforce planning, identify future capabilities and skills gaps, conduct workforce assessments, make informed decisions on internal and external talent strategic choices.
  3. Talent and recruitment management: Develop and execute HR roadmaps for talent attraction, retention, and development, and apply best practices to meet business needs.
  4. Individual performance management: Advocate for high quality individual performance management across the organization.
  5. Business performance management: Provide granular insights into drivers of labour cost and work with Finance and business leaders to identify levers to reduce labour cost, workforce intensity and to improve productivity.
  6. Stakeholder management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, providing strategic HR advice and guidance, and focusing on value generation.
  7. Change management and continuous improvement: Drive change initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
  8. HR data analytics: Embrace and integrate digital tools and analytics in HR practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  9. Diversity and inclusion initiatives: Promote a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.
  10. Organizational health: Maintain key aspects of organizational health, including culture and structure, and ensure it is healthy, strong and able to deliver business needs.
  11. Leadership capabilities and coaching: Develop leadership capabilities at different levels (frontline, middle management, and top management), provide individual coaching to leaders, and ensure leadership team effectiveness.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • A master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in HR business partnering, e.g., in developing HR plans and implementing initiatives in areas such as recruitment, performance management, organizational design, training, and change management; with specific experience in the Oil and Gas sector being highly advantageous.
  • A good understanding of business functions, industry trends, and competitive landscape, along with the ability to make decisions that align with business objectives.
  • Proven track-record of translating business requirements into people strategy, e.g. in workforce planning and talent recruitment; preferably in large, complex, multi-national organizations.
  • Proficiency in communicating effectively with all organizational levels and building strong relationships with stakeholders, including corporate leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing circumstances and resilience in facing industry challenges.
  • Strong leadership and analytical abilities, with a focus on data-driven approaches to improve business performance.

  • Short-term disability: In the event you are unable to work due to illness or injury, short-term income benefits are provided. The benefit is 30 days full pay and 60 days at three-quarters pay, in any one year period.
  • Death Benefit: The company pays an ex-gratia death benefit equal to 24 months base pay if death is from an industrial accident and 12 months base pay if death is non-industrial related.
