Position: Health and Safety Officer

Location: Saudi Arabia – Dammam

Type: Full-time

The Safety Officer supports the implementation and monitoring of safety policies and procedures within the factory. This role involves assisting with safety training, conducting basic safety inspections, and helping ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of occupational health and safety, strong communication skills, and a keen attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Support Safety Policy Implementation:

• Assist in the implementation and enforcement of safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Help communicate safety policies to employees and ensure understanding and adherence.

Conduct Basic Safety Inspections:

• Perform regular inspections of work areas to identify potential hazards and report findings to the Safety Manager.
• Assist in the development and implementation of corrective actions to address identified hazards.

Assist in Risk Assessments:

• Support the Safety Manager in conducting risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
• Help document risk assessment findings and assist in the development of mitigation strategies.

Support Safety Training and Education:

• Assist in organizing and conducting safety training sessions for employees, including new hire orientation and refresher courses.
• Help ensure employees are knowledgeable about safety procedures and the proper use of safety equipment.

Compliance Monitoring:

• Assist in conducting safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, audits, training sessions, and incident reports.

Emergency Preparedness:

• Support the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
• Assist in coordinating and conducting emergency drills, including fire drills and evacuation exercises.

Continuous Improvement:

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety practices and procedures.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in safety management.

Qualifications:

Education: Associate’s degree or higher in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications

Experience: 0-2 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.

Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in conducting inspections and reporting.

Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Problem-Solving Skills: Basic problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn.
