Job Overview

We are looking for a Head of Legal to lead our legal team at Basamh Group.

Our Legal Department’s vision is to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and provide strategic legal guidance to support our business objectives.

The Head of Legal will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters, managing legal risks, and ensuring that the Group operates within the legal framework. This role includes advising on regulatory compliance, contract negotiations, and dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities

As a successful candidate, you will:

• Develop and implement legal strategies that align with the company’s goals.
• Advise senior management on legal risks and implications of business decisions.
• Manage all legal disputes and litigation involving the company.
• Oversee the drafting and negotiation of contracts and agreements.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international laws and regulations.
• Lead a team of legal professionals and provide mentorship and guidance.
• Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws and industry trends.
• Collaborate with other departments to address legal issues and compliance matters.
• Represent the company in negotiations with external parties and regulatory bodies.
• Prepare and present legal reports to the board and senior management.

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate, you will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in or equivalent legal degree from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in a legal role, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
• Strong understanding of corporate law, commercial contracts, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent proficiency in spoken and written Arabic and English, complemented by strong communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Experience in consumer goods or related industries is preferred.
