OUR CLIENT

Our client is one of the largest FMCG (food) manufacturing and distribution companies in the region, headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They are market leaders in most of their product categories across the GCC and employ thousands of top talent from around the globe who contribute to their billion-dollar annual revenue.

An aggressive expansion program together with acquisitions in new vertical markets has created an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic multinational team dedicated to furthering growth plans for the group.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly experienced Category Director/Head to lead and drive the strategic growth of our client's meat division. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep industry expertise, a proven track record in both B2B and B2C markets, and exceptional leadership capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Category Leadership: Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance the performance of the meat category across diverse markets.
  2. Business Development: Identify growth opportunities, build robust business models, and foster strong relationships with stakeholders in both B2B and B2C environments.
  3. Marketing Strategy: Lead the development and execution of marketing strategies to strengthen brand positioning, drive consumer engagement, and increase market share.
  4. Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead high-performing cross-functional teams to achieve category goals and deliver business results.
  5. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments (e.g., operations, supply chain, sales) and external partners to ensure seamless execution of category strategies.
  6. Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to anticipate challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
  7. Financial Oversight: Oversee category budgets, pricing strategies, and profitability targets, ensuring sustainable growth and cost optimization.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Minimum 20 years in the FMCG sector, with at least 15 years in the meat industry.
  2. Extensive exposure to both B2B and B2C business models.
  3. Strong background in marketing, business development, or a related strategic function.
  4. Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, manage complex projects, and influence stakeholders across all levels.
  5. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement long-term growth strategies for a competitive market.
  6. In-depth understanding of the Middle Eastern FMCG market, including consumer behavior, regulatory environment, and cultural dynamics (desirable).
  7. Exceptional analytical, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance strategic priorities and operational excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  2. MBA desirable.
  3. International experience in diverse and multicultural environments.
