The Government Relations Specialist is responsible for managing the studio’s interactions with government entities, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and promoting the studio’s interests by unlocking opportunities to create positive impact.
This role involves liaising with various government departments, supporting legal and financial processes, and helping ensure compliance with KSA laws and regulations. The Government Relations Specialist will regularly interact with the legal, finance, and HR teams to ensure compliance, assess needs, find opportunities, and enable smooth operations.
This role requires proactive engagement with government entities to support the studio’s growth and compliance while remaining hands-on with the day-to-day operations and special project execution.
Responsibilities:
Government Liaison:
- Lead and support engagement between the studio and various government authorities.
- Handle inquiries and correspondence with government departments and agencies.
- Stay updated on changes in local laws and regulations that may affect the studio’s operations and inform relevant stakeholders.
- Proactively look for opportunities for positive impact that elevate the Studio’s success and align with government goals.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with all local and international regulations and standards.
- Prepare, submit, and follow up on all necessary documents and applications for company registration, licenses, permits, and approvals.
- In collaboration with HR and Finance, maintain and manage pertinent legal, financial, and employee documents, records, registrations, permits, and licenses.
Regulatory Affairs:
- Monitor and renew all company-related licenses, permits, and registrations to avoid any legal issues or penalties.
- In partnership with Finance, liaise with external auditors and finance consultants to ensure adherence to compliance requirements.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Support for Legal and Financial Processes:
- Assist the legal and finance teams with formalities and registrations of the studio’s branch in Saudi Arabia.
- Liaise with government authorities, including the Ministry of Investment (MISA), Ministry of Commerce (MOC), Chamber of Commerce (COC), Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF), and other relevant bodies.
- Support visa processing, work permits, and other documentation for visiting and expat employees.
Relationship Building:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities, government officials, and other stakeholders.
Team Support:
- Support visiting and relocating employees with practical information about Riyadh and Saudi Arabia, playing a key role in overcoming any obstacles in their relocation process.
- Assist the CEO in relationship building to forge strong relationships with the local and regional government bodies.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Law, or a related field.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role within Saudi Arabia.
Skills:
- Thorough understanding of Saudi Arabian laws, regulations, and government procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in both Arabic and English (written and spoken).
