This role demands profound experience in geotechnical data and analytical work.

What you will be doing

As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will collaborate with a dynamic team and your role will involve reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting technical data related to offshore site locations, preparing detailed consultancy reports, and managing packages and projects to deliver LPA for specific sites. Depending on the availability of relevant offshore passes, there may also be opportunities to participate in on-site investigations offshore.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Work on a variety of offshore projects, within MENA & India.
2. Prepare and assist with technical inputs on projects, particularly of geotechnical aspect.
3. Prepare and assist with review, analysis and interpretation of geotechnical data.
4. Extract the design soil parameters from field, factual and engineering reports.
5. Conduct the leg penetration analysis using ABL in-house software.
6. Assist with report writing and writing Technical Notes.
7. Undertake geotechnical analytical work, create and maintain spreadsheets, in-house developed tools, and databases.
8. Undertake R&D projects including developing innovative engineering tools and solutions.
9. Attend regular internal meetings and external/third-party meetings as required.
10. Prepare and assist with project bidding and proposal drafting.
11. Ensure all deliverables are conducted in full compliance with approved instructions, procedures and policies.

The role is primarily office-based in Saudi Arabia and the candidate must have the right to live and work in Saudi Arabia. Some travel may be involved. Offshore work can be provided if desired.

What we are looking for

An ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical and communication skills, and proven ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Having an up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements is essential. In addition, you will have:

1. Minimum 2.1 Class Degree in Engineering, specializing in Civil, Geotechnical, Structural, or Geological Engineering with a proven record undertaking academic projects or work experience in an engineering organization.
2. Ability to apply engineering knowledge to a diverse range of problems.
3. Well-organized, insightful, and a self-starter.
4. Good communication skills and excellent report-writing abilities.
5. High level of proficiency in the English language.
6. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
7. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
8. Ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team, including engineers, contract managers, and QHSE personnel.
9. Good sales and business development techniques.
10. Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team player with a proactive approach.

Desirable:

• Strong academic background in Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering.
• Dissertation focused on a Geotechnical Engineering subject.
• Previous relevant work experience in the offshore wind industry is an advantage.
• Basic technical knowledge of offshore wind farm design and construction, with some specialist experience and skills in related areas.
• Proficiency in French, German, Mandarin or another language is an advantage.
