Job Purpose Statement

The purpose of this role is to conduct maintenance and repair of a variety of permanent generators and equipment associated with generators and emergency power operations.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Respond to calls for emergency service.
2. Observe, test, and inspect generator equipment and systems for proper operation.
3. Perform advanced industrial maintenance activities without supervision on diesel generators.
4. Perform repairs and services on all makes and models of generator sets.
5. Perform inspections, repairs, services, start-up, and shut down.
6. Troubleshoot equipment and service generator components including alternators, wiring harnesses, safety devices, shutdown switches, and battery systems. Repair/troubleshoot engines such as Cummins, Doosan, etc.
7. Comply with all working procedures, quality control procedures, and rules; comply with all company safety, health, and environmental policies to ensure a safe work environment.
8. Apply proper engine technical skills in the inspection, disassembly, failure analysis, assembly, diagnosis, and engine operating performance tests.
9. Identify root cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps; determine corrective action through diagnostics and inspection of failed parts.
10. Maintain records for compliance for each generator.
11. Replace parts, reassemble machinery, and test for proper operation.
12. Receive and review work orders/requests to determine requirements.
13. Plan and schedule job execution man-hour requirements.
14. Prepare requisitions and/or purchase supplies and materials.
15. Assist with the inventory of spare parts.
16. Responsible for the inventory of small tools and parts.
17. Maintain equipment and tools.
18. Maintain various activity records and logs.
19. Perform preventive maintenance checks as scheduled.
20. Extract scheduled preventive maintenance checks from the facilities management system and take action as required.
21. Inspect work performed by private contractors for compliance with approved plans and specifications as needed.
