General Manager of Governance and Digital Empowerment

The General Manager of Governance and Digital Empowerment is a pivotal senior-management position within Government Confidential, requiring a seasoned professional with a strategic mindset and the ability to oversee the governance framework while leading digital transformation initiatives. Job Requirements:

  1. Must possess a minimum of 12 years and a maximum of 17 years of professional experience in the banking industry, with a focus on governance and digital innovation.
  2. Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent education and experience.
  3. Proven track record of devising and implementing governance frameworks within financial institutions.
  4. Demonstrated experience in leading digital transformation projects with a sizable impact on business processes and customer experience.
  5. Strong background in regulatory compliance, with an in-depth understanding of banking laws and standards.
  6. Prior experience working in or with government entities, with a strong grasp of public sector ethics, transparency, and accountability measures.
  7. Evidence of advanced strategic planning capabilities and the ability to forecast industry trends.
  8. Exceptional stakeholder management skills, capable of navigating complex political and organizational structures.
  9. Clear history of team leadership and talent development in high-stakes environments.
  10. Certified as a Professional in Governance (ProGov) or equivalent is highly desirable.
  11. Experience in risk management from a digital and financial perspective.
  12. Robust project management experience, preferably with certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2.

  4. Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the organization, encouraging staff to embrace digital tools and methodologies.
  5. Collaborate with government officials, regulatory bodies, and industry leaders to align initiatives with public interest and policy expectations.
  6. Ensure robust cybersecurity measures are in place, protecting sensitive information and financial assets from threats.
  7. Direct major projects from conception through to execution, ensuring milestones are met and deliverables are of high quality.
