Job Description

As a General Accountant, you play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial operations within the company. Your responsibilities will focus on maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing data, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. You will contribute to financial reporting, budgeting, VAT compliance, and support the company’s overall financial performance in the contracting sector.

Key Accountabilities

1. Conduct comprehensive analysis of all financial data related to company operations.
2. Review and scrutinize financial reports for accuracy and compliance.
3. Record all revenues, costs, and expenses with accuracy.
4. Ensure invoices are properly prepared and aligned with contract terms.
5. Maintain accurate backup records of accounting books and documentation.
6. Provide management with insights into the financial status and budgeting needs.
7. Recommend financial strategies and present them to the board of directors.
8. Prepare and submit VAT returns via the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority portal.
9. Review monthly payroll and oversee salary disbursements.
10. Establish and monitor cost centers for various contracting projects.
11. Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and financial laws related to the contracting and construction sector.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
2. Minimum 6 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in the contracting or construction industry.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
5. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Knowledge of project-based accounting, cost tracking, and VAT compliance in the contracting sector.
