A Food and Beverage Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel's dining services. Here are the typical day-to-day activities for this position:

Day-to-Day Activities of a Food and Beverage Supervisor

1. Supervising Staff: Leading and mentoring the food and beverage team to ensure high standards of service. Conducting briefings and training sessions to keep the team informed and motivated.
2. Overseeing Service Operations: Monitoring the setup and service of dining areas, including restaurants, bars, and banquet facilities. Ensuring that all areas are clean, well-maintained, and properly stocked.
3. Guest Interaction: Greeting guests and ensuring they receive exceptional service. Handling guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally.
4. Quality Control: Inspecting food and beverage items to ensure they meet the hotel's quality standards. Coordinating with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
5. Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies. Placing orders and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
6. Administrative Tasks: Preparing and submitting reports on food and beverage operations, including sales, inventory, and staff performance. Maintaining accurate records of all transactions and activities.
7. Ensuring Compliance: Ensuring that all food and beverage operations comply with health and safety regulations. Conducting regular inspections to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
8. Event Coordination: Assisting in the planning and execution of special events and banquets. Coordinating with other departments to ensure seamless service during events.

Skills and Qualities Needed

1. Strong Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve high standards of service.
2. Attention to Detail: Ensuring that all aspects of food and beverage service are impeccable.
3. Organizational Skills: Managing multiple tasks and maintaining detailed records efficiently.
4. Communication Skills: Communicating effectively with staff, guests, and suppliers.
5. Problem-Solving Skills: Addressing and resolving issues promptly and effectively.

What we need from you

Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for:

1. Bachelor’s degree, higher education qualification or equivalent in Hotel Administration / Business Administration.
2. Two to Three years’ prior tenure in a similar role.
3. International luxury hotel chain background.
4. GCC exposure.
5. English Fluency is required.
6. Arabic Fluency is preferred.
