Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assumes immediate command of the direction of ARFF duties at any emergency until the arrival of Duty Fire Chief.
- Directs station crews in the suppression of aircraft and structural fires and in the handling of other emergency situations requiring the assistance of ARFF Service.
- Assign firefighters and other personnel to vehicles and equipment.
- Conducts regularly scheduled training program in the use of all station equipment. Instructs in all techniques and procedures required for the safe and efficient operation of the station.
- Recommends further training by training personnel where necessary. Coordinates with the Training Section to implement the Department’s overall training program.
- Conducts regular exercises and drills to test the performance of station personnel and to ensure complete operational readiness of the station personnel.
- Responsible for the discipline of all subordinate personnel while on duty.
- Directs minor and preventive maintenance of all ARFF vehicles, tools, protective clothing and other equipment.
- Reports all vehicle and equipment malfunctions to the Fire Apparatus Officer to arrange for corrective action or replacement of vehicle equipment.
- Records all incidents, fire accidents in station logs. Ensures that all incidents are reported to fire control.
- Participates in investigations into the causes and future prevention of all fires and accidents.
- Complies with the Airport Emergency Response Plan and ARFF local SOPs.
- Participates in maintaining and updating the AERP and ARFF SOPs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
Education: Diploma degree in a Fire/Rescue related field
Language: English (Fluent), Arabic (Fluent)
Computer Skills: MS Office
Experience: 3 years of experience in Fire/Rescue Services including (2) years in a supervisory position.
